Electrical system design

The electrical system of wind turbines usually consists of the following 4 main systems and related components:

  •  turbine safety and control system: typically based on industrial automation technology especially adapted to wind energy
  •  blade pitch system: usually based on electrical drives independently driving each of the 3 blades with the help of an UPS
  •  power system: generator, frequency converter and transformer
  •  auxiliary systems: yaw drives, fans, hydraulics, lights etc.

Based on 5 years of electrical experience, wind-direct can help designing and optimizing each of the 4 complete systems or by editing suitable component specifications.
