FE analysis
FE analysis of a base frame





wind-direct provides full scale 3D modeling and Finite-Element (FE) analysis of wind turbine components.

Simulation of practical real-life situations, correlation between test and analysis data, service life prediction, design optimization, kinematic analysis and failure mode prediction are performed by our highly-qualified engineers:

  •  3D modeling and FE strength and fatigue analyses of cast structures (like hub or base frame) for design and certification (as per Germanischer Lloyd Guideline 2003 or other relevant standards)
  •  stiffness analysis of bearing seats, information needed by bearing suppliers for calculating bearing life
  •  FE strength analyses of rotor lock (welded structures and bolts) for design and certification
  •  3D modeling and FE strength analyses of nacelle + spinner FRP structures for design and certification (as per Germanischer Lloyd Guideline 2003 or other relevant standards)

Deliverables from wind-direct are:
  •  Detailed 3D CAD models of the components for deriving the 2D production drawings
  •  3D FE models of the components in a format to be importable into ANSYS
  •  Reports of the strength and lifetime results which can be submitted to certification bodies
